While this scale comes very highly recommended by many reputable people While this scale comes very highly recommended by many reputable people, it’s something of a disappointment. I like the fact that I can fit my food-processor bowl right on it and measure directly into the bowl. I like that the display is easy to read. I haven’t used the pull-out control/display feature but I imagine it will be handy at some point or another.

Excellent Scale, Phenomenal Customer Service This is a tough product for me to rank. Just after we bought it I’d have given five stars. We specifically purchased it because our old kitchen scale would keep turning off if we weren’t fast enough when putting together a recipe. This scale absolutely solved that problem. It was easy to use, has a nice big weigh platform, seems to be accurate, and the pull-out display is convenient when you’re using a large bowl or plate. But now after using it multiple times daily for four months, the on/off button has become finicky. It might take as many as ten presses before the scale comes on. So leaves us with a conundrum. I’m sure I could return the scale to Oxo and they’d undoubtedly repair it for us; we’ve returned other products to them in the past, and they’ve been absolutely fantastic. But my wife and I both use the scale multiple times daily to help with our dieting, and the thought of being without it while it’s out for repair is probably worse than the frustration of putting up with a…

Good scale and design, bad display. I game it 3 stars because it likes to convert any weight of ounces over 16oz to 1lb {x}oz. While this might be good for some things, using the scale for recipes makes it an annoyance. Consider if you have a recipe asking for 10 ounces of flour and you want to double or even triple the recipe, you cannot just weigh out 20 or 30 ounces, you have to first calculate what that end weight will be, slowing the process. I also have yet to find many recipes which use measurements of pounds with ounces. They are either ounces, pounds, or pounds with a fraction of a pound. I am considering a return because of this.
