My Best Friend This thing…..it’s my best friend. Hands down, no joke, I’m in love. I don’t use it everyday, and sometimes not for a week or so, but when I need it, it’s there. And it never fails, as soon as I use it for something I’m looking around the kitchen to see what else I can slice/chop/shred, because it’s fun to use and mind-glowingly simple. I’m upset with myself for waiting so long to buy this. It is the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought for my kitchen (appliances not included), and I would buy it again in a heartbeat. The only thing is it’s too tall to fit on my counter, beneath the upper cabinets. If you’re a tad OCD about your countertops being clutter-free like I am, this will only bother you for all of 5 minutes until you use it. It now has a place of honor on my peninsula because 1) it’s too heavy to move around all the time, and 2) it deserves it.

Equivalent to industrial equipment! I’ve been working in professional kitchens for many years. Typically, when it comes to food preparation, the right tool can reduce an hour-long task into a minutes-long one. Here’s a good example: I was preparing 4 pounds of jalapenos for pickling (about 50 peppers). Thinly slicing with a knife, I can work at a pace around 15 seconds per pepper (assuming that’s the only task I need to worry about). For 50 peppers, that should take me about 12.5 minutes. With this food processor’s slicing attachment and after stemming all my peppers, I can slice literally at a rate of one second per pepper. A 12 minute job just became a one minute job AND my slices are more consistently sized. This extends to pretty much any other product that’ll fit in its chute (tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, onion, cabbage, strawberries, potatoes, celery, you get the idea).

I don’t know how I ever got anything done with my old one. I just upgraded to this from a cheap (if you call $80 cheap) B&D model. I watched a lot of video reviews on this and they were right on the mark. This unit is top notch. It does everything it’s designed to do beautifully. It’s so quiet, you can use it while the whole house is asleep without waking a soul. You can whip up dough for two pizzas or a double crust pie without even the tiniest whiff of flour escaping.
